The level 4 BSL is great because it gives you so much more context. Our course covers all aspects of knowing how to perform in class outside your BSL and it is such a vast topic. We cover things like: what is the protocol for DVD's, exams and BSL invigilation's, notetaking to ensure you put the student back into the visual learning environment, modified materials: how, why, when, Voiceover, and transactional analysis, building independent students; how, why and gaining support from your team. Working as a CSW is so much more than language alone and that is what we aim to instill in students attending our course. There are so many CSW's in the field with little or no support, this aims to provide that confidence and structure so many are lacking.
